The Nicotine Prevention Alliance of Central Wisconsin has created an Alternatives to Suspension guide for schools and other organizations that work with youth. This guide highlights programs that offer alternatives to suspension, resources to help youth quit smoking, and other options for teaching coping skills.  

Schools and organizations seeking to avoid punitive measures in their tobacco-free policy may consider the following, non-exhaustive list of alternatives to suspension programs. Programs can be adjusted to fit staff availability as well as class and extracurricular schedules.
