Local E-Cigarette Policy

On Tuesday, May 10th the Marshfield Common Council will be deciding if they want to maintain their standard of clean indoor air by including e-cigarettes into their local clean indoor air ordinance. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, Lower Level, City Hall Plaza at 7:00 PM.

E-Cigarettes Threaten Public Health

On April 7, 2016 a coalition member submitted a letter to the editor in the Marshfield News Herald about how e-cigarettes threaten the standard of clean indoor air set by Wisconsin over five years ago.

Other Tobacco News

New CDC Report on Youth Tobacco Use

The CDC released a new Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) focused on youth use of tobacco products from 2011-2015. The report found that in 2015, e-cigarettes remained the most commonly used tobacco product among middle and high school students. Between 2014 and 2015, current use of e-cigarettes increased among middle school students, while current use of hookahs decreased among high school students.

CDC Releases New Study on Teen Exposure to E-Cigarette Advertising

According to the report, e-cigarette advertisement exposure on the Internet, newspapers/magazines, in retail stores, and in TV/movies is associated with current e-cigarette use among US middle and high school students. Greater exposure is associated with higher odds of use.
